Green Day recently released Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band and there is an unexpected duet on the album.
Miranda Lambert has lent her voice for a country flare on a very pop punk record.
Back in August, Lambert and Green Day were both performing in Denver, Colorado. Singer Billie Joe Armstrong reached out to Lambert about the duet and booked studio time.
Armstrong has been known to team up with less than punk artists before. He’s dueted with Norah Jones and Lambert previously.
The two share vocals on a reworked version of the 2016 Green Day song Ordinary World. The song is in ballad territory, making it perfect for Lambert’s soothing vocals.
The track and the entire album are now available to stream.
